iOS development is one of the best development fields in the world. However, some regions have a ridiculously less number of iOS developers and some of the companies there need to hire outsiders to complete or work on their iOS projects.

In this article, I'm talking about the main reasons why the Kurdistan Region, my homeland, has a very less number of iOS developers with a good number of jobs for that (this might be applying for Iraq too). Alright, let's dive into the reasons:

• Money: 💰

  Since Xcode is required to develop iOS apps, and for that, you might need to buy a MacBook. MacBooks are not that expensive here, but people find them expensive and would rather buy a Windows device instead (even it'll be more expensive) or may not afford it. VMs is a solution for that, it might not properly work sometimes through.

• Resources:

  Of course, not everyone here knows the English language, and that's fine because it's not our speaking language. iOS development tutorials are widely available in English, and as far as I know, we have only two resources for learning to create iOS apps, and they are outdated and were in Objective-C. Therefore, they need to know English or other languages for that.

• Hard to learn (?):

  I'm surprised about people complaining about how hard learning iOS development would be to them. Swift has been so easier to use and more clear to read, not only compared to Objective-C, but to most of the modern and latest programming languages. And thanks to the new SwiftUI framework, developing Apple platform apps has never been this easy.

• Cross-platform frameworks over native ones:

  Cross-platform frameworks have become so popular among new coders here. They're easy to learn, run on all of the platforms with the same codebase, and of course, they have numerous resources. However, this is also one of the main reasons for pushing the existing iOS developer to stop using developing with the native languages and rely on this one-codebase-many-platforms technology.

Finally, I want to mention that this platform has completely changed my life and I work in this field for over two years now.
